The region of Calabria is very authentic with genuine Mediterranean charm and still not prevailed by tourism. Calabria offers medieval picturesque mountain villages with a thrilling story and an unspoiled dramatic nature.
In a distance of less than 10 km from Villa Collina lies Badolato in Montagne,
a small, quiet village with 16 churches, where the past and present have found
a balance of life in a breathtaking environment.
Calabria is dominated by the mountain range of the Apennines with three large national parks: Pollino and Sila to the north and Aspromonte to the south. The parks are rich in flora and fauna.
On the south point of the region is the former capital Reggio di Calabria by the Strait of Messina – the gate way to Sicily. Other towns in easy reach of Villa Collina are Soverato, the Riviera of Calabria, and the present capital of the region Catanzaro.
